Why I Photograph

Today was a milestone day for my photography.

I hung twenty-five of my images for my first Gallery Showing.

Over the last fifteen years, I have found great joy in taking my camera out to photograph nature. What began as a hobby to help capture memories of places visited and hikes taken has evolved into a passion for celebrating the beauty of the world that is all around us…with most likely too much camera gear stuffed into my gear bag, if I’ am being honest.

Over the coming months, I hope to share more in this space about the way photography has had an impact on my life. In some way, it was a simple way to get a little exercise on the trails. In a deeper way, it gave me a sense of purpose when life’s circumstances and changes in careers made me question whether I would find a new one or not. (Hint, it did).

I also want to write about my experiences in nature with my camera. Some of it will be the process (mind), some of it will be the wonder (heart).

Stay tuned for more.

Thanks for reading.
